Two seasons ago, Danjel Purifoy was one of Auburn’s top-two players. Following a 21-month layoff due to eligibility issues stemming from the FBI’s investigation into corruption in college basketball, however, much has changed for Purifoy since returning to the court. Purifoy, who missed all of last season and 30 percent of this one, has been back in action for four games — but the redshirt-junior forward is no longer the Tigers’ best or second-best player. Donald E. Davis Arboretum is located within the campus of Auburn University. The arboretum is showcasing an extensive array of native trees, wildflowers and shrubs that can be found in the southeastern part of the U.S. At present, it has a collection of over 150 species of native Alabama trees. Its collection includes Abies firma, Acer negundo, Betula nigra and Carya aquatica. A wide collection of carnivorous plants, oaks and azaleas can also be seen within its area. Donald E. Davis Arboretum celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. It is open to guests for 24 hours everyday, all year round.
